A Time Of Upheaval And Uncertainty In Our World!

"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."

Romans 12:18-21

"And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein."

Genesis 9:7

"If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."

Ephesians 4:21-24

In this issue of the Last Trumpet Newsletter, we will once again consider the current events of our day which show how a deeply-rooted spiritual ugliness has taken hold in our world. In particular, the United States is seeing a time of great upheaval even as the country transitions to the presidency of Donald Trump. Of course, we know that the election of Mr. Trump as President of the United States came as a great shock to the world, and with that shock a great rift of ideology has formed in America. On the morning of January 20th, 2017, which was Inauguration Day, political analyst Matthew Dowd of the ABC television network was heard to say, "I think we're obviously in unprecedented times with a lot of things that happened unexpectedly including Election Day for most people in the country. I am struck by where the country is today which to me it's much more akin to where we were in 1861 and how divided the country is." (1) For those who have studied history, you might recall that 1861 is the year when the American Civil War began. The fact that a political analyst on a major television network would compare our present time with the era of the Civil War is certainly noteworthy, and it demonstrates the severe acrimony at work in the United States.

Lest anyone should wonder, the protests of Inauguration Day were far from spontaneous. In the days leading up to the event, a faction of protestors and agitators, calling themselves DisruptJ20, gathered in a classroom at American University in Washington to receive training on how to protest and what to do if they should be arrested. One of the group's organizers was quoted as saying, "We're bringing widespread civil resistance to the streets of Washington, D.C., through protests, direct actions, and even parties. We're not just organizing some boring (expletive) march - we want direct action." (2) American University sought to disavow themselves of the group. "American University is concerned that aspects of this program involve training participants to take actions at the inauguration that could potentially put them in harm's way and disobey the law," said Kelly Alexander, the spokeswoman for the university. (3)

The damage inflicted in Washington, D.C., on January 20th is significant. These supposedly peaceful protestors smashed windows at local businesses and set cars ablaze, including a limousine, while the driver of the vehicle was still in it. The driver survived, but he was understandably shaken by the ordeal. "It took no longer than five minutes. They smashed all the windows - 'Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam.' Then they went and smashed another window of the SUV that was behind me. When I opened the door, I saw a small flame already on the carpet. I step on it, pull it off, take the flare out, smash it on the floor and that's it," the driver said. (4) Ironically, the destroyed limousine was owned by a Muslim immigrant, a segment of the population that these protestors claim will be persecuted by Donald Trump. (5) Protestors also smashed the windows of television personality Larry King's SUV. (6) In the end, 230 people were arrested and are now facing felony rioting charges. (7) As tempers flare and anger surges in this country, we must resist the urge to get swept up in the madness. In Romans 12:18-18 we are told by the Apostle Paul, "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."

Angry Feminists Descend On Washington!

On January 21, 2017, the day following the inauguration, an estimated crowd of 500,000 people, the majority of which were women, marched and protested in Washington, D.C. This massive event featured numerous celebrities who gave speeches decrying the election of Trump. This includes the filthy pop music artist known as Madonna who launched a profanity laced tirade, called for a revolution, and admitted that she has thought about blowing up the White House. "It seems as though we had all slipped into a false sense of comfort that justice would prevail, that good would win in the end. Well, good did not win this election, but good will win in the end. So what today means is that we are far from the end. Today marks the beginning, the beginning of our story. The revolution starts here, the fight for the right to be free, to be who we are, to be equal," Madonna said. She later went on to say, "I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House, and I know this won't change anything. We cannot fall into despair." (8)

Famous actress Scarlett Johansson was also on hand to protest Trump and promote Planned Parenthood. "No judgment, no questions asked, Planned Parenthood provided a safe place where I could be treated with gentle guidance. Now I may have been 15 and surprisingly self-sufficient, but I bet there isn't one person here who has not been helped by Planned Parenthood, directly or otherwise," Johannsen stated. (9) The actress previously made headlines in October 2015 when she was featured in a blasphemous recording known as "Sexy Bible." This recording features Old Testament Scriptures mockingly read in a so-called provocative manner. (10)

The Women's March on Washington featured many sponsors. According to a report published by the New York Times, at least 56 of the organizations associated with the march have close ties to billionaire elitist George Soros. (11) This is unsurprising, considering the fact that Soros has a history of funding protests, which are often more accurately described as riots. Event organizers would not accept every feminist group as a sponsor, however. An organization, known as the New Wave Feminists, was removed as a sponsor after it was discovered that they are pro-life. "The Women's March platform is pro-choice and that has been our stance from day one. We want to assure all of our partners, as well as our participants, that we are pro-choice as clearly stated in our Unity Principles. We look forward to marching on behalf of individuals who share the view that women deserve the right to make their own reproductive decisions," said organizers of the Women's March in a statement. (12) In other words, one of the biggest concerns of these rabid feminists is maintaining their right to slaughter unborn children. The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans, chapter 1, that one of the traits of reprobate people, people who cannot distinguish between right and wrong, is that they are "without natural affection."

A Callous Disregard For Human Life!

The callous disregard for human life that is now so common in our world is both heartbreaking and stunning. As an example of how cold-hearted people have become, a reprehensible thing recently happened in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. On December 1, 2016, it was reported that a 19 year-old woman has been sentenced to only two years of probation after she murdered her hours-old newborn baby. "She held the baby for some time, but she had an exam that day. Because she had the exam, she didn't know what to do. She finally decided she should drown the baby. She did that in the sink and then she went to her exam," said Crown lawyer Will Burrows. News reports indicate that the young woman then kept the body of her child in the trunk of her car for three weeks. (13) I cannot help but think of the words of our Saviour that we find in Matthew 24:12, wherein we are told, "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."

The Rise And Fall Of The World's Population!

In a remote area within Elbert County, Georgia, in the United States, stands a mysterious monument. This enormous structure consists of five slabs of granite reaching 16 feet high and weighing more than 20 tons each. The monument, which is known as the Georgia Guidestones, was commissioned in 1979 by a man calling himself R.C. Christian. Little is known about this elusive figure; however, he did claim to work on the behalf of "a small group of loyal Americans." (14) Why is this monument so interesting? The stones of this monument are inscribed with ten commandments in the languages of English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, and Swahili. The first of these commandments demand, "Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature." (15) Thus, we can deduce that there is a secret group at work seeking to reduce the population of the world to less than 500 million people. When we consider how many people live on our planet at this present time, this would be a dramatic reduction to say the least. There are nearly 7.5 billion people alive in the world today. (16)

We are often told by environmental extremists that the world is overpopulated and as a result, heading for ultimate destruction. One of these extremists is a man by the name of Dr. Paul Ehrlich who once wrote, "Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society." In January 2013 Ehrlich further wrote, "Too many studies asking 'how can we possibly feed 9.6 billion people by 2050?' should also be asking, 'how can we humanely lower birth rates far enough to reduce that number to 8.6?'" (17) Here let it be noted that Dr. Ehrlich has been invited by Pope Francis to present a paper on the subject of "Biological Extinction" at the Vatican from February 27 to March 1, 2017. (18) The event will also feature a speech entitled "Population: Current State and Future Prospects" given by Professor John Bongaarts of the Population Council. The Population Council was founded by John D. Rockefellar in 1952 and actively works to reduce birthrates around the world. (19) This is a very strange development considering the fact that the Catholic Church is supposed to be opposed to abortion. Could it be that Pope Francis, too, is an environmental extremist?

It is undeniable that the world's population has grown by extraordinary measures over the years. This population growth has been most significant in countries such as China and India, which both have more than 1.3 billion people each. (20) More than half of the population growth over the course of the next thirty-five years is expected to occur on the African continent. (21) Yet, there are many countries around the world where populations are actually declining. According to the United Nations, forty-eight countries around the world will likely have declining populations by the year 2050. (22) The population crisis is especially evident in Europe. According to a report by The Guardian, the fertility rate in the European Union is only 1.55 children born for every child-bearing age woman. In Spain this rate is only 1.27 children. "We have provinces in Spain where for every baby born, more than two people die. And the ratio is moving closer to one to three," said Alejandro Macarron, a business consultant in Spain. (23) In Portugal it is estimated that the population will decline from 10.5 million to 6.3 million people by the year 2060. Meanwhile, Germany has the lowest birthrate in the world with a population that is expected to drop from 81 million today to 67 million in 2060. (24) In Italy the government has resorted to offering financial incentives to women who give birth to babies. "If we carry on as we are and fail to reverse the trend, there will be fewer than 350,000 births a year in ten years' time. 40 percent less than in 2010 - an apocalypse," warned Beatrice Lorenzin, who is the Health Minister in Italy. She later went on to say, "In five years we have lost more than 66,000 births [per year] - that is the equivalent of a city the size of Siena." (25)

In an interview published in May 2016, Pope Francis revealed his solution to the population crisis in Europe. His suggestion is that the European people fully embrace and integrate migrants and refugees into their countries. "Coming back to the migrant issue, the worst form of welcome is to ghettoize them. On the contrary, it's necessary to integrate them," Pope Francis declared. He later went on to say, "I am thinking here of Pope Gregory the Great who negotiated with the people known as barbarians, who were subsequently integrated. This integration is all the more necessary today since, as a result of a selfish search for well-being, Europe is experiencing the grave problem of a declining birth rate. A demographic emptiness is developing. In France at least, this trend is less marked because of family-oriented policies." (26) What the Pope fails to mention is that such integration would result in the European countries being transformed into Islamic nations. Perhaps such a development would not be troubling to Pope Francis. In the past he has stated that Muslims and Christians worship the same God. (27)

The population decline is not just an issue in Europe. A report from February 2016 indicates that the aging population of Japan has precipitously fallen by nearly one million people since 2010. (28)

In the United States, it was reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, that the fertility rate has fallen to the lowest levels ever recorded with fewer than six babies born per 100 women of child-bearing age. (29) It should be noted that while the population of the United States has not stopped growing, the majority of the growth has come from legal and illegal immigration. A study performed by Pew Research Center in 2015 estimates that 88 percent of all population growth in America will be from immigration by the year 2065. "Without the immigrants, the U.S. population would start decreasing," stated Pew researcher Jeff Passel. He further went on to say, "The big picture is that immigration has been the major demographic factor driving growth and change in the U.S. population over the last 50 years." (30)

The fall of the birthrate in the United States is the end result of a multi-decade long effort to indoctrinate young people with the belief that our planet is overcrowded and that having large families is an irresponsible thing to do. It is this mindset that has led to the abortion of 58 million babies in the United States since 1973. Each and every day, more than 3,000 babies are killed in America. (31) It is my hope and prayer that the new leadership in this country will take steps to change this sad reality. As it stands, populations in many developed nations are falling or starting to fall, and this is a trend that will likely continue into the foreseeable future. This demonstrates that the mindset of the people is contrary to the mindset of God who told us in Genesis 9:7, "And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein."

Fake News - Now More Mainstream Than Ever!

In last month's issue of the Last Trumpet, we covered the topic of fake news in-depth. As noted last month, we know that fake news is now rampant in our world and is often published on the Internet. Sometimes this fake news comes from disinformation agents actively seeking to deceive the people while other fake news come from enterprising individuals looking to make easy money. However, the largest source of fake news in this modern age is the mainstream media. A growing number of people are finally starting to wake up to this reality. A recent study conducted by Rasmussen Reports found that just 33 percent of participants who watch CNN trust the information they are presented with by the cable news channel. (32)

Since the surprising American presidential election of 2016, reporting by the mainstream media has been especially bad, and numerous falsities have been uncovered. One claim that was frequently made by the ABC, NBC, and CBS television networks was that Russia had hacked the election. They made this false claim forty-nine times in one month despite the fact that a declassified report from the Department of Homeland Security indicates that there is no evidence that Russia successfully hacked any voting machines during the election. (33)

The Washington Post was also caught publishing fake news in recent weeks. In one story, it was reported that Russia was found to be a major source of fake news. In reality, this was fake news about fake news that eventually led to the Washington Post publishing an editor's note that retracted some of the findings in the article. (34) Another article published by the news outlet made the false claim that Russia had hacked the American power grid. It never happened. (35) The article was eventually amended, and now includes an editor's note which states, "An earlier version of this story incorrectly said that Russian hackers had penetrated the U.S. electric grid. Authorities say there is no indication of that so far. The computer at Burlington Electric that was hacked was not attached to the grid." (36) In reality, even the retraction does not go far enough. There is no evidence that it was the Russians who placed the malicious software on the infected computer.

Further controversy erupted on January 10, 2017, when Buzzfeed News decided to publish the contents of a dossier that supposedly contained compromising information regarding Donald Trump. It was alleged that this information was used to blackmail Trump and force him to work with Russia. Buzzfeed decided to publish the document despite the fact that its accuracy could not be verified. "Buzzfeed News is publishing the full document so that Americans can make up their own minds about the allegations about the president-elect that have circulated at the highest levels of the US government." (37) On the evening of January 10, 2017, Buzzfeed News editor-in-chief Ben Smith wrote a note to his staff explaining why they published the information. "Our presumption is to be transparent in our journalism and to share what we have with our readers. We have always erred on the side of publishing. In this case, the document was in wide circulation at the highest levels of American government and media. It seems to lie behind a set of vague allegations from the Senate Majority Leader to the director of the FBI and a report that intelligence agencies have delivered to the president and president-elect. As we noted in our story, there is serious reason to doubt the allegations." Smith later went on to write, "Publishing this document was not an easy or simple call, and people of good will may disagree with our choice. But publishing this dossier reflects how we see the job of reporters in 2017." (38) In other words, Ben Smith believes it is the job of reporters to publish news stories that are of dubious origin and probably untrue.

Ironically, a story surfaced on January 19, 2017, which indicates that CNN is looking for a news reporter to cover fake news. "We're going to be examining the wave of 'fake news' stories and the people behind them, but more than that we're going to be looking at truth - what happened to it, why so many of us no longer believe it, and where those people are going to get their information instead," CNN wrote in a job listing. The listing further goes on to say, "They should get angry every time they see any inaccuracy in any story, whether large or small, and whether published by a fake news site or a real one." (39) It is interesting to note that this job listing seems to be suggesting that even real news sites publish inaccurate information. It is more obvious than ever that the mainstream media cannot be trusted. As I have said before, God is the only source of absolute truth. In John 8:31-32 we read, "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

A Time Of Great Division In America!

Without a doubt, there is great division in the United States of America. Liberals do not like conservatives and conservatives do not like liberals. While many people are ecstatic that Donald Trump is now the President, others are filled with resentment and rage. This anger has the potential to boil over at any time, and only God knows what the future may hold.

There is great dissatisfaction within the American state of California right now. A poll conducted in January 2017 by Reuters/Ipsos found that 32 percent of respondents, or nearly one third, favor seceding from the United States and forming their own country. At this time, a group calling itself Yes California is pursuing a ballot measure for 2018 which would start the process of secession. (40) It should be noted that even if this ballot measure were successful, it is unlikely that California would be allowed to leave the United States. Nevertheless, this movement demonstrates how upset many Californians are right now.

The election of Donald Trump as President has also sparked the growth of an unusual movement. In December 2016, BBC News reported that many liberals are now buying guns. This trend has resulted in significant growth at organizations such as The Liberal Gun Club, and The Pink Pistols, which is apparently geared toward homosexuals. "There are people who have professed to carrying a gun now because Trump makes them feel unsafe," said one member of the Pink Pistols. The article also reports that a growing number of liberals are becoming survivalists who are prepping for any impending catastrophe related to the Trump presidency. (41)

Meanwhile, a large number of wealthy people in the United States have been preparing for the apocalypse. While some have purchased underground bunkers, other wealthy individuals are plotting their escape to New Zealand. "Saying you're 'buying a house in New Zealand' is kind of a wink, wink, say no more. Once you've done the Masonic handshake, they'll be, like, 'Oh, you know, I have a broker who sells old ICBM silos, and they're nuclear hardened, and they kind of look like they would be interesting to live in," said Steve Huffman, the CEO of the popular website known as Reddit. (42) These drastic measures make me wonder, just what are these elite people expecting to happen? Do they know something that we do not?

In closing, I urge every reader of this newsletter to keep your mind focused on God and His will. This can be a challenging thing in this modern world where the minds of so many people have been overtaken and captivated. In a recent report, USA Today disclosed that the average attention span of a human being is now just eight seconds. (43) This is truly sad. Yet, we serve a God that can renew our minds if we but yield to Him. In Ephesians 4:21-24 we read, "If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness." If you have not yet repented of your sins and dedicated your life to God, I urge you to do so now.

Once again, I thank you all for your kind support of this ministry. I pray that God will bless you all. If you have any prayer requests, please do not hesitate to send them our way. We always give each request individual attention. Grace and peace be unto you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
